CONVERSATION WITH GOD..!!!!

AWESOME! Something unique !

CONVERSATION WITH GOD!!!!

Conversation with God!

Conversation with God!

Me- I can’t find free time. Life has become hectic.

GOD : Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you free.

Me :why has life become complicated now?

GOD : Stop analyzing life.. It makes it complicated. Just live it.

Me : Why are we then constantly unhappy?

GOD : Worrying has become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.

Me: why do good people always suffer?

GOD : Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don’t suffer.

With that experience their life becomes better, not bitter.

Me : You mean to say such experience is useful?

GOD : Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.

Me : Because of so many problems, we don’t know where we are heading…

GOD : If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides the way.

Me : does failure hurt more than moving in the right direction?

GOD : Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you.

Me : In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

GOD : Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.

Me : What surprises you about people?

GOD : When they suffer they ask, “why me?” When they prosper, they never ask “Why me?”

Me : How can I get the best out of life?

GOD : Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

Me : One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.

GOD : There are no unanswered prayers. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Life is a mystery to solve, not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.

VOTING DAY Guide of Do’s and Dont’s FOR Everyone!

VOTING DAY Guide of Do’s and Dont’s FOR Everyone :

Responsible Indian!

Responsible Indian!

A) Voter ID confusion

1) If your name is in electoral list & you have not got voter ID – Goood news, CAN VOTE.
Take your photo Id proofs along to the polling booth.
2) If you dont know if your name is in electoral list, and you have already applied – check name online here
-> ceo.maharashtra.gov.in
a) Check your name through
“Final Electoral Lists’ or through “Partwise Pdf lists”.
if your name is present, YOU CAN VOTE.
If not still go on voting Day and check if your name exists on that day through the volunteers generally present around your booths on voting day.
If your name is not there —
Bad news -> apply again after MAY for future.

3) If your name is in electoral list, and got voter ID, but shifted to another city, state, area and you did not change to your current residing area – YOU CAN Still VOTE with self effort. Please spend ur precious money & time to travel to ur constituency to exercise your right to vote.
Because your country is precious.
YOU call her Bharath”Maata” for a reason.

4) IF There is mistake in Voter ID
“spelling of name” ( no stress),
“age” (no stress), “address” (slight stress, go to the polling booth corresponding the wrong address & vote this time).
Later u can fill appropriate forms to make any sort of correction.
5) If you haven’t applied. Puppy Shame.
Don’t get carried away by whatsapp forwards by EC, that you can vote if u just show up with documents on voters-day. That’s a big fat rumor. All you can do is just pray for the country this time.

B) “I Hate Them All” syndrome (I sympathize with you. But vote nevertheless.)
1) NOTA – most dangerous. most useless.
Because there won’t be a re-election if NOTA is more than winning candidate.
You have been royally fooled if you believe otherwise.
If you don’t trust me. google it.

2) Nation election = is electing a Stable government, PERIOD.

Any government which can garner max. votes. so that atleast some sensible work can happen.
This time, the majority with minimum alliance based on social media & news is OBVIOUS.
You can show off and swim against the tide, but it wont help really. so you might have to vote for a moron because his party at the center is the best bet. Do it. Shit happens.
Remember this is National Elections…!!!

In State elections however, one must totally focus on the credentials of a person and not bother much/at all abt the party.

C) EVM – Electronic Voting Machine
1) This is where the final deal is sealed.
This is most imp.
2) You got to press a blue button against the logo of the party of your choice.
Make sure there is a decently loud beep sound that follows.
Make sure that the machine selects the party of your choice and make sure the machine is not making wrong choice
3) For which you should
first know the logo!
Ask google bhaiyya.
Because against the logo,
the party’s name WONT BE WRITTEN in the EVM. Only candidate & logo.

4) if i want party X in the center & they are allied with Y & Z, In your constituency, dont only byheart logo of party X, cos there may not be candidate of X standing there.
So byheart logo of Y & Z too & vote accordingly.
5) Know your candidate’s name & party logo.
https://www.google.co.in/elections/ed/in/districts

6) carry something to eat, just in case the line may be long.
Allow the older folks to jump the line, carry ur ipod etc. etc.

******

Getting out of the small mind – Rajshree Didi – 10-11 March 2014

Rajshree Didi ( file pic )

Rajshree Didi ( file pic )

Some excerpts of what Rajshree Didi spoke on March 10,2014

1. Like a GPS, it shows u the path.It makes u the path clear.Though there is still traffic jams & all.

2. Likewise when u r clear with ur purpose with why u are doing. When there is clarity,U move on, even though problems exists & things have not changed.

3. Many times you know its wrong yet u do it? How to stop & avert this tendency?

4. You know u like what the small mind does. Because many times your logic works, reasoning wins!

5. & with that attitude u keep moving & at times get lost in that ambition to win your small mind.

6. That is vasana, that binds you back with misery.

7. To overcome Vasana, one out of ten times, you say a no to it. Start with this.

8. You know observe the wall. If there is a crack how will the water flow?

9. It flows thru the cracks & soon there is a continuous flow & water gets directed to it.

10. Same is with the mind. Vasanas are those cracks. If you let them be, it widens & concentrates!

11. You have to fill the crack with cement.& stop the water flow at some point

12.You have to say no to those vasanas that bind you to misery.

13. Through awareness & understanding you can overcome the vasana with Purushartha – SelfEffort!

14. So KarmaYog & BhaktiYog both are there. You have to do & you have to relax

15. You have to sing & you have to surrender.

16. You have to relax & stop running around in the mind!

17. Trust in the innocence ( bhola bhaav) of the present moment..
Bholenath..thats Shiva..

18. If the creator created all this without any purpose…how will we ..the creation have any purpose!!!!!..
its just his daydream!

19. You want to know the how & the why. You just relax & Be. Be in this moment & Move with the confidence that everything is alright 🙂

20. Die every moment – that small mind that keeps hankering to misery & bondage ,
to let Life spring up & align itself with a greater cause. To not get stuck up again in misery 🙂

###

SOME excerpts from meet with Rajshree Didi , March 11,2014

1. Whenever you meet Guruji,  your mind should be stable & clear without any turbulence. It should not be like he is coming & making you calm. You should be ready to learn or experience his presence.

2 . Have at least one “Guru brother, Guru friend, companion” who will be there to keep you on path.

3. Come out of & drop all patterns to be free.

4. Having anything is your choice.  Your friends, positions, food.
You choose you reap.

5 . Behind everything there is intelligence working,  there is even mismanagement.

6. It’s that intelligence which is carring us n everything . Like wood log in river flow.

Once again remember…
Our consciousness is like water & body is like log..
Its about merging with the big consciousness & getting out of our small minds!

Q n A with Sri Sri : How to make doing Sadhana everyday, an easy habit?

Q n A with Sri Sri

Q n A with Sri Sri

Q : Gurudev, taking out time for Sadhana in everyday life becomes little difficult, whereas I enjoy doing Sadhana.
How to make it an easy habit?

Sri Sri:
Look, is it difficult to take out time to brush your teeth?
You need to take time out to go to the washroom, isn’t it? You bathe everyday or not? Do you run to the office after getting up from the bed? Without having breakfast, do you go?
There is time to have tea, breakfast, and gossip.
There is time to bathe for an hour, and there is time to stand in front of the mirror and comb your hair. Whoever comes home we have time to talk nonsense with them. And on top of all this, there is time for television.
But for doing Sadhana, after doing which one feels so good, how come there is no time?

I know there is a lot of running around to do in life, and it feels like there is no time, but you have to create a discipline for Sadhana. Make a commitment, ‘If I don’t do Sadhana today, I won’t have breakfast.
I don’t have the right to eat anything until I sit for 15 minutes’.
Only 15 minutes, in the morning after waking up, sit in bed. Loosen your whole body, and realize that God is your own, God is within you.
Just sit there for a few minutes.

I tell you, once in the year 1980, we went to Badrinath and Kedarnath (pilgrim spots in North India). In those days going to Badrinath and Kedarnath was very difficult.
It would take three days from Rishikesh to Badrinath.
We had to stop frequently and couldn’t travel at night. There were two Germans with us who we taught pranayama and meditation. ]
When it was evening, they would ask the driver to stop the car near any pavement.
And there on the road, by the pavement, they would spread their mats and sit in meditation.
I was surprised seeing them. Whatever condition you are in, wherever you are, you should meditate.

During my college days, if I was traveling by train, even I would also do it (my Sadhana) there itself, in the train.
But I was seeing these two Germans, they were so particular about the time. As soon as it was 6 PM they would stop the car, and sit in meditation.
What I mean to say is, we should make it a habit.
Morning or evening, at least one time – when you return home from work, wash your face and sit for 20 minutes. This much time we can definitely take out. Or wake up a little early in the morning.
If you were not able to wake up early and got late one day, then do it after returning home in evening.

When you have decided that without doing sadhana you won’t have food, then this becomes a part of your routine. Then if you miss one or two days, no problem. But don’t make missing it a habit.
There’s a very nice bhajan by Sant Kabirdas.
“Kaam na choda, krodh na choda, satyavachan kyu chod diya, Naam japan kyu chod diya”.
(You didn’t leave lust, you didn’t leave anger, then why did you leave the words of truth? Why did you stop chanting his name?)

Karma, Mahabharat and My duty ~ Sri Sri answers..

Sri Sri Ravishankar ji

Sri Sri Ravishankar ji

Q: Guruji, I have been told that a human soul can often take one to two million years to find liberation. Is it true that by doing Kriya and meditation every day, this liberation can be obtained even in one lifetime?

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: Everything works with some strange karma. You must lift your eyes and look into this realm. There is a beautiful couplet that says, ‘This world has all the wealth, all that is needed, but one who has no karma, cannot get it.’ So, whether you get something or you don’t, it all works with some strange karma. Recognition, money, power, relationship, health; everything depends on some law in creation. When good times come, your worst enemy starts helping you, and when bad times come, even your best friend behaves like an enemy. All these things happen due to some very strange karma.

An intelligent person doesn’t get caught up in all this. He still keeps putting in his effort, and keeps moving on. You do whatever is needed to put in an effort, and then you leave it. Do you know Lord Krishna went three times to stop the Mahabharata (narrative of the Kurukshetra War) war?

When someone asked Lord Krishna, ‘If you knew that the war was going to happen anyway, why did you go three times for peace negotiations? All three times your peace negotiations failed, then why did you go?’ That is a very valid question.

Lord Krishna said, ‘If I had not gone, then the question would have come that you could have done peace negotiation, why didn’t you do it?’ You have your duty towards your karma, whatever you need to do, you do it! Suppose the peace negotiation would have succeeded, then the whole Mahabharata would have finished, and the Gita would never have come! The immortal song of the Divine (Bhagavad Gita) would never have come into existence!

So, very well knowing that the Gita had to come, and the war had to happen, still Lord Krishna went for peace negotiations. This is because it is in our dharma, our nature. We should keep putting in our efforts and not get attached to the consequences or the results. This is very subtle because the mind gets sucked into maya ‘illusion’ in some form or the other.

The mind needs to be hammered into knowledge. It can easily slip out of these four pillars of knowledge, Viveka(discrimination), Vairagya (detachment), self-control, and honoring what you have (not grieving about what is not). And then, wanting liberation! So keep on hammering the knowledge back, again and again!

Suddenly, you will find it is all there, anyway. Now, when you slip, then also remember that is another level. Knowing all this, suppose you still get caught up (in maya), then don’t feel bad that you got caught up; even that is part of nature. Don’t say, ‘Oh, I did not apply knowledge!’ or ‘Either someone else is wrong, or I am wrong!’

Whether unpleasant things are happening or pleasant things are happening, I am a witness to it. And my mind is getting caught up in it, even that is a part of the happening; I am witness to that also. This is how you rise above the situation! You have to practice pranayama, meditation and knowledge for a long time. The whole life itself is a practice, and when you practice with honor, then this knowledge becomes well-founded in you.

Trivia :
Mumbai is divided into constituencies..
Each constituency is further divided into parts..
Each part comprises of a selection of areas..
Lets take an example…
I stay at Building A, like wise there is building B,C,D,E
Together a selection of buildings like A,B,C,D,E etc are given a unique name : That is in technical term a PART number
several such PARTS are put under a bigger category : Constituency!

There exists a further higher classification : District wise :
A major selection of constituency is put under a certain district!

LETS take a practical example :
Amit Society is in Mulund.. Likewise there Mukti Towers, SnehBandhan and few others in the vicinity.. These are all given a PART number – 122
Like wise there are other PARTS
together all PARTS are placed in a “CONSTITUENCY” or a greater area :
So my society comes under “Mulund Constituency” and its technical number is 155..
My constituency is then listed under Mumbai Subarban

So if i have to search my name i need to look for Constituency 155 , PART number 122 to precisely locate my building name!

20 Scientific Reasons to Start Meditating Today: New research shows meditation boosts your health, happiness, and success! ~ Emma Seppala

THE ORIGINAL ARTICLE IS  posted here : http://www.emmaseppala.com/20-scientific-reasons-to-start-meditating-today/#sthash.wqqJ2O0B.jilnuoJe.dpbs

I started meditating soon after 9/11. I was living in Manhattan, an already chaotic place, at an extremely chaotic time. I realized I had no control over my external environment. But the one place I did have a say over was my mind, through meditation. When I started meditating, I did not realize it would also make me healthier, happier, and more successful. Having witnessed the benefits, I devoted my PhD research at Stanford to studying the impact of meditation. I saw people from diverse backgrounds from college students to combat veterans benefit. In the last 10 years, hundreds of studies have been released. Here are 20 scientifically-validated reasons you might want to get on the bandwagon today:

It Boosts Your HEALTH

1 – Increases immune function (See here and here)

2 – Decreases Pain (see here)

3 – Decreases Inflammation at the Cellular Level (See here and here and here)

It Boosts Your HAPPINESS

4 – Increases Positive Emotion (here and here)

5 – Decreases Depression (see here)

6 – Decreases Anxiety (see here and here and here)

7 – Decreases Stress (see here and here)

It Boosts Your SOCIAL LIFE

Think meditation is a solitary activity? It may be (unless you meditate in a group which many do!) but it actually increases your sense of connection to others:

8 – Increases social connection & emotional intelligence (see here and – by yours truly – here)

9 – Makes you more compassionate (see here and here and here)

10 – Makes you feel less lonely (see here)

It Boosts Your Self-Control

11 – Improves your ability to regulate your emotions (see here) (Ever flown off the handle or not been able to quiet your mind? Here’s the key)

12 – Improves your ability to introspect (see here & for why this is crucial see this post)

It Changes Your BRAIN (for the better)

13 – Increases grey matter (see here)

14 – Increases volume in areas related to emotion regulation, positive emotions & self-control (see here and here)

15 – Increases cortical thickness in areas related to paying attention (see here)

It Improves Your Productivity (yup, by doing nothing)

16 – Increases your focus & attention (see here and here and here and here)

17 – Improves your ability to multitask (see here and here)

18 – Improves your memory (see here)

19 – Improves your ability to be creative & think outside the box (see research by J. Schooler)

20. It Makes You WISE(R)

It gives you perspective: By observing your mind, you realize you don’t have to be slave to it. You realize it throws tantrums, gets grumpy, jealous, happy and sad but that it doesn’t have to run you. Meditation is quite simply mental hygiene: clear out the junk, tune your talents, and get in touch with yourself. Think about it, you shower every day and clean your body, but have you ever showered your mind? As a consequence, you’ll feel more clear and see thing with greater perspective. “The quality of our life depends on the quality of our mind,” writes Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. We can’t control what happens on the outside but we do have a say over the quality of our mind. No matter what’s going on, if your mind is ok, everything is ok. Right now.

It Keeps You Real

Once you get to know your mind, you start to own your stuff and become more authentic, maybe even humble. You realize the stories and soap operas your mind puts you through and you gain some perspective on them. You realize most of us are caught up in a mind-drama and become more compassionate towards others.

Myths about Meditation

Having an empty mind—nope, in fact, when you start meditating, you’ll find its quite the opposite

Sitting in lotus position—nope, you can sit on the couch (just don’t lie down, you’ll fall asleep)

Sitting for an hour a day—nope, small doses work just fine, (see here and – by yours truly – here)

Chanting in a language I don’t understand—nope, not unless that floats your boat

Buddhist, Hindu or religious—nope, not unless you make it so

Weird—what’s so weird about sitting and breathing? Besides, US congressmen, NFL football leagues and the US Marine Corps are doing it, how weird can it be?

Wearing robes—what?

“I can’t meditate” because

I can’t clear my mind—no worries, while you’re sitting there you’ll experience the noisy chaos of a wound up mind that’s unwinding: tons of thoughts, feelings and emotions. Don’t worry about how you feel during, notice how you feel after and throughout the rest of the day

I can’t sit still—that’s ok, just sit comfortably, fidget if you need to

I get anxious—that’s also normal, all the junk’s coming up, learn some breathing practices to calm yourself down, exercise or do yoga before meditating

I hate sitting still—that’s fine, then go for a walk without your earphones, phone etc; or start with yoga; or do breathing exercises…give yourself time to just “be” without constantly “doing” something

I tried and I hated it—there’s not just one kind of meditation, there’s a whole menu out there, look for the shoe that fits: mindfulness, Transcendental, compassion, mantra, Vipassana, Art of Living breathing practices, yoga nidra, yoga, insight, loving-kindness, tai chi etc…

I don’t have time – if you have time to read an article about meditation all the way through, you have time to meditate. Think of all those minutes you waste every day on the internet or otherwise, you can definitely fit in 20 minutes here or there to give your life a boost! Gandhi is quoted as saying “I’m so busy today, that… I’m going to meditate 2 hours instead of 1.”
